A July jury trial is set for a former Indiana credit union branch manager accused of fraud, forgery and theft.

Betty Stickler, 52, was fired as a branch manager for the $52 million Perfect Circle Credit Union in December 2015, after Lisa Dykhoff, president/CEO of the Hagerstown-Ind.-based credit union and Tom Flowers, vice president, conducted an internal investigation and reported the discrepancies to local police investigators.

The suspected fraud and theft, however, had been initially detected by employees who worked with Stickler at the credit union’s New Castle branch. The former branch manager asked them to make transactions that violated the credit union’s policies, according to New Castle police reports.

The police investigation found Stickler allegedly stole and allegedly attempted to steal funds through unauthorized loans and cash schemes that amounted to more than $50,000.

One of the unauthorized loans processed by Stickler was for $21,950. She also used a car as collateral to obtain a second $22,950 loan, but police found the car already had been used as collateral for a loan at another credit union.

In February, Stickler pleaded not guilty to the seven felony charges in Henry County Circuit Court in New Castle.
