Credit unions located across the nation, as well as the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation and Iowa Credit Union League recently announced new hires, promotions and appointments. Check out this past week’s People news below.
WEST
The $1.2 billion Rogue Credit Union in Medford, Ore., promoted Lisa Dolmage to market vice president. In this position, Dolmage will lead the credit union’s Grants Pass and Roseburg markets. She has 28 years of financial instruction experience, most recently managing Rogue’s downtown Grants Pass branch.
The $2.6 billion WSECU in Olympia, Wash., hired Paul Kirkbride as SVP and chief credit officer. In his new role, Kirkbride will oversee all lending related activities for the credit union, including consumer, mortgage and commercial. Prior to joining WSECU, he was SVP of credit union solutions at CU Direct Corporation in Sacramento, Calif., and chief lending officer at the $1 billion Unitus Community Credit Union in Portland, Ore.
EAST
The $891 million St. Anne’s Credit Union in Fall River, Mass., appointed Karen Skinner to vice president of compliance and deposit operations.
Skinner (pictured) brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the position, most recently working as assistant vice president of the $1.6 billion Metro Credit Union in Chelsea, Mass. In this role, she was responsible for the oversight of deposit compliance, deposit risk management and Bank Secrecy Act program management, including oversight of security and financial crimes investigations.
MIDWEST
The $2 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., promoted Amy Schaefer to chief internal auditor. In this role, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Royal’s audit services department.
She will also establish goals and objectives for the department and develop and implement strategies to accomplish them. Schaefer (pictured) joined Royal in January 2001. Since then she has held various positions within the audit services department, most recently as the audit services manager.
The $3.1 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa hired one employee and promoted another.
Jennifer Mount was hired as accountant III. Mount, a resident of Jesup, Iowa, was previously a payroll tax accountant with Veridian Fiscal Solutions.
Mount (pictured) is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Amanda Ott (pictured) was promoted to the position of team lead for Veridian Fiscal Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Veridian Group. Ott, a resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa, was previously a learning and development specialist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in family services from the University of Northern Iowa, and currently serves as a board member for the Inclusion Connection.
The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation promoted Andrea Molnau to executive director. In this role, Molnau will oversee foundation grant programs, financial literacy efforts, the foundation scholarship council and the Minnesota chapter of Credit Unions for Kids. Prior to joining MnCUN in 2015, Molnau worked as a credit union marketer for 20 years.
SOUTH
Dustin Jacobs (pictured), vice president of marketing at the $439 million BrightStar Credit Union in Miami, Fla., was appointed to the board of directors of the Broward Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of Broward County Public School students through the support of quality education. Jacobs has been the vice president of marketing at BrightStar Credit Union since 2015.
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis appointed Craig Esrael, president/CEO of the $526 million First South Financial Credit Union in Bartlett, Tenn., to its CDIAC. Established by the St. Louis Fed in 2011, the 12-person advisory council is made of executives of smaller financial institutions across the Fed’s Eighth District, which includes Bartlett. Esrael was appointed to a three-year term ending in 2019. Council members advise St. Louis Fed President James Bullard on the credit, banking and economic conditions facing their institutions and local communities.
LEAGUES
The Iowa Credit Union League selected Katie Lange, accountant at the $116 million Alliant Credit Union in Dubuque, Iowa, to join its 2017 Iowa Innovation Group program. Lange joins 20 other credit union leaders from 15 different credit unions across Iowa and two of ICUL’s sister companies in serving as an IIG participant. IIG fosters the development of new ideas and innovations for credit unions. Each new IIG member will serve a six-month term and be responsible for building and piloting new ideas to benefit credit unions and their members. The participants will unveil their ideas at the 2017 Iowa Credit Union Convention in Des Moines, Iowa.
