Rich Meade has left CUNA as its COO and chief of staff to rejoin the Washington, D.C.-based Prime Policy Group, a government relations and public affairs firm.

He worked at CUNA for more than two years.

Meade is working as a vice chairman at PPG where he will oversee the organization’s strategic growth and manage its healthcare practice.

“Rich is one Washington’s most prominent budget and healthcare policy experts,” Charlie Black, PPG’s chairman, said. “His extensive network and unmatched institutional knowledge will provide clients yet another exceptional resource for navigating the Republican-controlled Congress and Administration. Rich’s unrivaled expertise in budgetary policy and budget reconciliation will be of particular value to clients in the years ahead.”

Meade holds more than 25 years of legislative, regulatory, political and public relations strategy expertise to PPG. He spent more than 14 years in senior positions on Capitol Hill, including Chief of Staff for the House Budget Committee where he was the Committee’s principal liaison to House and Senate leadership and the Executive Branch.

Meade worked as legislative director and chief of staff for CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle when he served as an Iowa Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 2007.

Meade previously worked at PPG as a managing director from January 2005 to October 2014 when he was hired by CUNA.
