The Cooperative Credit Union Association announced this week its member credit unions in Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island will receive a 7.5% rebate on their 2016 dues.

The dues rebate averages to just under $1,000 per credit union member, Association President Paul Gentile said.

“Our members robustly utilized the association’s offerings in 2016 and helped drive our successful year,” Association Board Chair Bernie Winne, said, who is president/CEO of the $251 million Boston Firefighters Credit Union in Dorchester, Mass. “The board unanimously supported this dues rebate as just one more way we return value back to the membership.”

Association members can have the dues rebate check mailed to them, donate their rebate to the social responsibility cause in their state, contribute the rebate to the Better Values-Better Banking campaign for the credit union’s state, or split the rebate between the social responsibility cause and the Better Values-Better Banking campaign.

Nearly 200 credit unions are members of the Cooperative Credit Union Association based in Marlborough, Mass.
