Under her leadership, the credit union changed its charter designation from occupational to community, which enabled the cooperative to serve the entire island of Hawaii.

During her career, Pung received several recognitions including Credit Union Professional of the Year by the Hawaii Credit Union League and the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Award for business and professional women.
