Credit unions in Wisconsin, Florida and Wyoming publicly announced new CEOs in March.

Linda B. Hoover (pictured) was appointed president/CEO of the $1.6 billion Educators Credit Union in Mount Pleasant, Wis. She was serving as the interim president/CEO following the death Eugene Szymczak in December.

Hoover, a Racine, Wis., native, joined Educators in 1987. She has managed most of the business units of the credit union and served as COO.

“Her passion places the credit union in a role that is central to helping our own members and the members of the communities in which we operate realize their dreams,” Board Chair Mary Lueneburg said in a prepared statement. “Linda brings her own unique set of skills and experiences to these challenges while solidly aligning with the organization’s strategic goals and aspirations in continuity with our late CEO Gene Szymczak. Her work ethic is second to none as is her integrity. As a board, we see in her a leader who can inspire by example as well as by her ability to sort through the minutiae to chart a course forward.”

Kevin S. Miller (pictured) was named president/CEO of CFE Federal Credit Union in Lake Mary, Fla.

He succeeded Joseph A. Melbourne Jr., who retired March 31.

Under Melbourne’s 19-year CEO tenure, the credit union grew from $373 million in assets and 10 branches to $1.6 billion and 22 branches. Under his leadership, CFE converted to a community-based charter that expanded its membership, and he also formed partnerships with the University of Central Florida, Seminole State College and Strayer University.

Miller joined the credit union in 2004 and served as EVP, chief administrative officer and general counsel. He previously worked as an attorney at Graham, Builder, Jones, Pratt & Marks, an Orlando-based law firm.

Steven Leafgreen was appointed as president/CEO of the $141 million Western Vista Federal Credit Union in Cheyenne, Wyo.

He succeeded John Balser, who retired as president/CEO after 27 years of service.

Leafgreen began his career at Western Vista in June 2010 as the vice president of financial services. He was promoted to EVP in September 2016.

Leafgreen holds nearly 20 years of banking and management experience, ranging from credit and risk management, to underwriting, special assets, mortgage and middle marketing lending.
