Eight credit unions from coast to coast had a busy past few weeks as they finalized new hires, promotions and CEO appointments. Plus, the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions hired a new executive.

WEST

The $2 billion Numerica Credit Union in Wenatchee, Wash., hired Jessica Clay as business development officer for the Wenatchee Valley region. Clay has more than 20 years of experience in the radio broadcast industry. Most recently, she was a certified radio and digital marketing consultant and on-air talent at Alpha Media.

EAST

The $988 million St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester, N.H., hired Michael Beck as vice president, wealth management for the St. Mary’s Financial Services program located at the credit union. Beck, a certified financial planner, will guide the credit union’s members toward their financial goals through estate, investment, education and retirement planning. He mentors other financial planners through CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. and previously served on CBSI’s Senior Advisor Leadership Team.

The $732 million Sikorsky Credit Union in Stratford, Conn., promoted Scott Posey to SVP and chief information officer. Posey joined the credit union last fall and works out of the credit union’s headquarters in Stratford, reporting directly to Vincent Ciambriello, president/CEO. Posey brings more than 20 years of experience to the credit union, most recently as director of IT at Casco Products, an international automotive manufacturer with offices based out of Bridgeport, Conn. He also has extensive consulting experience, including work with several financial institutions. 

MIDWEST

The $4 billion Wright-Patt Credit Union in Beavercreek, Ohio, promoted two employees.

Eric Bugger was promoted to chief lending officer. Bugger joined WPCU in 2011 as vice president of lending, and took a proactive approach to lending – removing obstacles and streamlining processes. Bugger brings more than 17 years of executive-level credit union lending experience and will take on the new role effective immediately.

Jennifer Ogden was promoted to vice president of internal audit. She joined WPCU in 2010 after serving as assistant vice president of regulatory compliance for PNC mortgage.

Prior to her role as the director of internal audit, Ogden held the role of director of risk management. Ogden will help ensure WPCU continues to operate under the highest levels of internal controls and quality.

The $159 million TrueCore Federal Credit Union in Newark, Ohio, promoted Jason Hall to vice president of operations. Hall is a 10-year employee of TrueCore. His new role will consist of increased involvement in the areas of strategic planning and direction of the credit union, project management and change management. He will continue to be responsible for the member service team, branch operations and credit union facilities. Hall is a founding member and chairman of the TrueCore Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of others by fulfilling needs in our community.

The $32 million Energy Plus Credit Union inIndianapolis selected Cari Palmer as its new president/CEO. Palmer succeeds Scott Armstrong, who has taken a position with an out-of-state credit union. Palmer has worked at Energy Plus since 2008, most recently as vice president, where she has been primarily responsible for operations. She is active in credit union advocacy initiatives and is currently the chairman of Indiana Credit Union Political Action Committee.

The $71 million Sterling United Federal Credit Union in Evansville, Ind., appointed Daniel B. Bullock as its new CEO. He assumed responsibilities on Jan. 8, 2018 and will succeed Aaron K. Wood, who departed Sterling United in fall 2017. Bullock worked for CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. While working for CLA, he provided consulting, audit and compliance services to community banks as well as credit unions throughout the Midwest. He was most recently employed at Old National Bank, where he served as a senior audit team member for the past three years.

SOUTH

The $2.1 billion Atlanta Postal Credit Union in Atlanta promoted Wayne Porter to eServices Manager. Porter has worked at the credit union since 2017 as a payment services analyst. Previously, he was a senior business analyst and a manager of treasury management implementation at other Atlanta financial institutions.

TRADES

The Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, the official gift-receiving and field engagement arm of the World Council, hired Mike Reuter as executive director. Reuter will lead the strategic vision for the Worldwide Foundation, focus on maximizing revenue opportunities, streamline operations and engage new audiences to implement specific fundraising initiatives. Reuter, a nonprofit executive with more than 10 years of leadership experience, has created and executed strategic development plans, fostered donor relations with key stakeholders, cultivated support and spearheaded fundraising for capital projects through engaging storytelling.
