CUNA said Wednesday it will move into a new office during the spring of 2018 at the 99M building currently under construction at Washington D.C.’s Riverfront neighborhood.

The national trade organization plans to lease 22,000-square-feet on the third floor in a building that has been designed to meet the LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) gold standard, which reduces water and energy usage, carbon dioxide emissions and improved indoor environmental quality.

“The vibrant neighborhood we’re moving to maintains our close connection to Capitol Hill, and I know our membership will appreciate the long-term savings we’ll realize in this new space,” CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle, said in a prepared statement.

Located at 99 M Street, SE, on the corner of First and M Streets, SE, the 11-story 99M building is steps from both the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metrorail entrances and seven blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

The new building houses about 220,000-square-feet of office space, with approximately 11,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space on the ground floor. The building will also feature a green roof and rooftop terrace, a tenant-only fitness facility, a secure bicycle storage area and four levels of underground parking.
